LAB PRACTICAL ASSIGNMENT – 1

Question: Switch on the computer system, identify all major components of the Windows User Interface (GUI), and open/close basic applications using three different methods.

1. Desktop & Icons की पहचान: कंप्यूटर चालू होने के बाद दिखने वाली मुख्य स्क्रीन को Desktop कहते हैं। इस पर बने छोटे चित्रों को Icons कहते हैं। जिन आइकॉन के नीचे बाएँ कोने में छोटा तीर (Arrow) बना होता है, वे Shortcuts होते हैं।
2. Taskbar का उपयोग: स्क्रीन के सबसे नीचे की पट्टी को Taskbar कहते हैं। इसके बाएँ कोने में Start Button और दाएँ कोने में System Tray (Date/Time, Sound, Network) होता है।
3. Application चलाने के 3 तरीके (उदाहरण: Notepad):
   • तरीका 1 (Start Menu से): Start Button दबाएं → Notepad टाइप करें → Enter दबाएं।
   • तरीका 2 (Run Box से - सबसे तेज़): कीबोर्ड पर Win + R दबाएं → notepad (कैलकुलेटर के लिए calc, पेंट के लिए mspaint) लिखें → Enter दबाएं।
   • तरीका 3 (Desktop Shortcut से): Desktop पर Right-Click → New → Shortcut → notepad.exe लिखें → Next → Finish करें और आइकॉन पर Double-Click करें।
4. Window Controls: विंडो के ऊपरी दाएँ कोने से — (Minimize), ☐ (Maximize/Restore) और ✕ या Alt + F4 (Close) का अभ्यास करें।

Question: Perform the following Mouse settings in Windows:
(a) Display pointer trails  |  (b) Change the normal pointer of a mouse to another pointer  |  (c) Interchange the functions of left and right mouse buttons.

1. Task (a) Display Pointer Trails:
   • Win + R दबाकर main.cpl लिखें और Enter दबाएं (Mouse Properties खुल जाएगा)।
   • ऊपर Pointer Options टैब पर क्लिक करें।
   • नीचे Visibility सेक्शन में Display pointer trails चेकबॉक्स पर टिक (✔) लगाएं और Apply करें।
2. Task (b) Change Normal Pointer Icon:
   • उसी विंडो में ऊपर Pointers टैब पर क्लिक करें और लिस्ट में Normal Select चुनें।
   • नीचे Browse... बटन पर क्लिक करें, कोई भी कर्सर (जैसे aero_pen.cur या cross_i.cur) चुनकर Open और Apply करें। (वापस पहले जैसा करने के लिए Use Default दबाएं)।
3. Task (c) Interchange Left and Right Mouse Buttons:
   • ऊपर Buttons टैब पर क्लिक करें।
   • Switch primary and secondary buttons चेकबॉक्स पर टिक (✔) लगाएं।
   • ध्यान दें: टिक लगाते ही Left-Click का काम Right-Click करने लगेगा! टेस्ट करने के बाद Right Mouse Button से ही टिक हटाएँ और OK पर क्लिक करें।

Question: Perform the following Date and Time operations in your Operating System:
(a) Set the date advanced by 2 months  |  (b) Reset the system date & time  |  (c) Set the system time late by 2 hrs: 40 minutes  |  (d) Set Yesterday’s date and time.

1. तैयारी (Prerequisite): Taskbar की घड़ी पर Right-Click करें → Adjust date and time → Set time automatically को OFF कर दें।
2. Task (a) तारीख 2 महीने आगे बढ़ाना: Win + R → timedate.cpl खोलें → Change date and time... पर क्लिक करें → कैलेंडर में महीने के तीर (Arrow) पर 2 बार क्लिक करके 2 महीने आगे बढ़ाएं और OK दबाएं।
3. Task (b) समय 2 घंटे 40 मिनट पीछे (Late) करना: फिर से Change date and time... पर क्लिक करें → Time बॉक्स में वर्तमान समय से 2 घंटे 40 मिनट कम समय भरें (उदाहरण: यदि 12:50 PM हो रहा है, तो 10:10 AM लिखें) → OK दबाएं।
4. Task (c) Yesterday (बीते हुए कल) की तारीख सेट करना: Change date and time... पर क्लिक करें → कैलेंडर में आज की तारीख से ठीक 1 दिन पहले वाली तारीख चुनें और OK दबाएं।
5. Task (d) वापस Reset करना: Settings में जाकर Set time automatically को वापस ON कर दें (या timedate.cpl के Internet Time टैब से Update now कर दें)।

Question: Change the wallpaper of your computer and set it to a Paintbrush (MS Paint) file made by you.

1. Win + R दबाएं, mspaint लिखें और Enter दबाएं।
2. Shapes और Fill with color टूल से एक सुंदर आकृति बनाएं और Text Tool (A) से अपना नाम व कोर्स लिखें।
3. Ctrl + S दबाएं, लोकेशन में Desktop चुनें और फाइल को MyWallpaper.png नाम से Save करें।
4. MS Paint के ऊपरी बाएँ कोने में File मेनू पर क्लिक करें → Set as desktop background → Fill पर क्लिक करें।
5. Win + D दबाकर Desktop देखें—आपकी बनाई गई पेंट फाइल अब वॉलपेपर बन चुकी है!

Question: Change the screen saver of your computer to ‘Marquee’ (or ‘3D Text’), set your name as the text, and set the wait time to 2 minutes.

1. Win + R दबाएं, control desk.cpl,,@screensaver लिखें और Enter दबाएं।
2. Screen saver ड्रॉप-डाउन लिस्ट से 3D Text (या Marquee) चुनें।
3. बगल में दिए गए Settings... बटन पर क्लिक करें।
4. Custom Text बॉक्स में अपना पूरा नाम टाइप करें और OK दबाएं।

1. (a) Desktop पर NIELIT बनाएं: Desktop पर Right-Click → New → Folder → नाम NIELIT लिखें।
2. (b) C:\ पर R1 बनाएं: Win + E दबाकर This PC → Local Disk (C:) खोलें → Ctrl + Shift + N दबाएं → नाम R1 लिखें।
3. (c) Desktop पर D2 बनाएं: Desktop पर Right-Click → New → Folder → नाम D2 लिखें।
4. (d) C:\ पर R2 बनाएं: C:\ ड्राइव खोलें → Ctrl + Shift + N दबाएं → नाम R2 लिखें।
5. (e) D1 के अंदर NIELIT-1 बनाएं: Desktop पर फोल्डर D1 बनाएं, उसे खोलकर उसके अंदर नया फोल्डर NIELIT-1 बनाएं।
6. (f) D2 के अंदर D2-1 बनाएं: Desktop पर बने D2 फोल्डर को खोलें और उसके अंदर नया फोल्डर D2-1 बनाएं।
7. (g) D2-1 को Copy करके R1 में डालें: D2-1 को Select करके Ctrl + C दबाएं, फिर C:\R1 खोलकर Ctrl + V दबाएं।
8. (h) R1 में से D2-1 को Delete करें: C:\R1 के अंदर D2-1 पर क्लिक करें और कीबोर्ड से Delete बटन दबाएं।
9. (i) R1 के अंदर R1-1 बनाएं: C:\R1 में Ctrl + Shift + N दबाएं और नाम R1-1 लिखें।
10. (j) R1-1 को R2 के अंदर Copy करें: C:\R1\R1-1 को Ctrl + C करें और C:\R2 में जाकर Ctrl + V कर दें।
11. (k) R2 के अंदर R1-1 का नाम बदलें: C:\R2 में रखे R1-1 पर क्लिक करें, F2 दबाएं और नया नाम subfolder of R2 लिखकर Enter दबाएं।
12. (l) C:\ की फाइलें R2 में Copy करें: C:\ की फाइलों को Ctrl + C करके C:\R2 में Ctrl + V करें।
13. (m) R2 की सभी फाइलें Delete करें: C:\R2 की फाइलों को Select करके Delete बटन दबाएं।
14. (n) सभी डिलीट फाइलें Recover करें: Desktop पर Recycle Bin खोलें → उन फाइलों पर Right-Click करें → Restore पर क्लिक करें।

Question: Create a new Local User Account named LabStudent with a password, change its account type from Standard User to Administrator, and remove the test account after verification.

1. Win + I दबाकर Settings → Accounts → Other users (या Family & other users) पर क्लिक करें।
2. Add account बटन पर क्लिक करें।
3. नीचे "I don't have this person's sign-in information" पर क्लिक करें और फिर "Add a user without a Microsoft account" पर क्लिक करें।
4. User name में LabStudent और Password में Nielit@123 भरकर Next दबाएं।
5. Administrator बनाना: लिस्ट में LabStudent पर क्लिक करें → Change account type → Administrator चुनें और OK दबाएं।
6. Account हटाना: LabStudent पर क्लिक करें → Remove → Delete account and data पर क्लिक करें।

1. Software Install करना: Downloads फोल्डर में रखी सेटअप फाइल (जैसे 7z-setup.exe या vlc-setup.exe) पर Right-Click → Run as administrator करें → Yes दबाएं → Next → I Accept Agreement → Next → Install → Finish पर क्लिक करें।
2. Software Uninstall करना: Win + R दबाकर appwiz.cpl खोलें → जिस प्रोग्राम को हटाना है उस पर Right-Click → Uninstall पर क्लिक करें और स्क्रीन के निर्देश पूरे करें।
3. Windows Features चालू/बंद करना: उसी appwiz.cpl विंडो के बाएँ पैनल में Turn Windows features on or off पर क्लिक करें → लिस्ट में Telnet Client पर टिक (✔) लगाएं और OK दबाएं।

Question: Open Windows Display Settings and inspect/modify Screen Resolution, Scale Percentage, Display Orientation, and Night Light.

1. Desktop की खाली जगह पर Right-Click → Display settings पर क्लिक करें।
2. Night Light: सबसे ऊपर Night light को ON करके देखें (स्क्रीन हल्की पीली हो जाएगी जो आँखों को सुरक्षित रखती है)।
3. Scale & Layout: Scale में 100% को 125% करके देखें कि अक्षर और आइकॉन कैसे बड़े होते हैं।
4. Display Resolution: अपने मॉनिटर का पिक्सेल साइज (1920 × 1080 (Recommended)) चेक करें।
5. Display Orientation: Landscape और Portrait विकल्प देखें।

1. Win + R → control printers खोलें → Add a printer → "The printer that I want isn't listed" पर क्लिक करें।

3. Port में LPT1: या FILE: (Print to File) चुनें → Manufacturer में Microsoft और Printer में Microsoft Print to PDF चुनें → Next दबाएं।
4. प्रिंटर का नाम Lab_Printer रखें → Share this printer चुनें → Set as the default printer पर टिक लगाएं और Finish करें।
5. हटाने के लिए प्रिंटर आइकॉन पर Right-Click → Remove device पर क्लिक करें।

1. Win + R → control folders लिखें और Enter दबाएं (Folder Options खुल जाएगा)।
2. ऊपर View टैब पर क्लिक करें।

4. Hide extensions for known file types चेकबॉक्स पर से टिक हटा दें (Uncheck करें) और Apply → OK दबाएं।
